Art Stroll Shennanigans outside the Hip Joint

Deb made this cool Robot with a video of her husband in his Digititus (band's name) mask.

Nancy and I were inspired by the wonderful graffiti knitting group called Knitta and used some unfinished knitting of Nancy's to bomb a tree outside the Hip Joint in Yellow Springs.

Like many people , Nancy has found the news of what is happening to women around the world going beyond even just disturbing. As UN Official John Holmes states in his article, "the brutality is staggering".

"Because gender-based violence is sustained by silence, women's voices must be heard. UNFPA puts every effort into enabling women to speak out against gender-based violence, and to get help when they are victims of it. The Fund is also committed to keeping gender-based violence in the spotlight as a major health and human rights concern."

Human Rights Watch keeps track of abuses around the world.
PeaceWomen Org "is a website that provides accurate and timely information on women, peace and security issues and women's peace-building initiatives in areas of armed conflict".

I love the title and drawing Nancy did for her husband's office conference room. Somehow I think it will be less controversial than the banksy elephant that caused a public stir last year.
